Go and try on a speedmaster professional (and/or a FOIS) as well, yes you will need to increase your budget but it may be where you end up. A FOIS sits between reduced and professional size wize.

That said, if I were to choose one of these 2, its the Hammy all day for me.

The same one that I know of (from the vintage date you showed me)? I wish I lived closer. All of the ones local to me that I know of are closed.
Yup- them. But I went in before covid- life seems to have stopped March 14th.

I love my reduced, I think white really suits it.
That's giving me Baby Alaska Project vibes. Looks great!

Get the Hamilton. While the Speedy Reduced has some love on this forum (for whatever reason), the movement in it is a big drawback. Many watchmakers will not touch it because of the modular design, which means you may have to send it back to Omega for service and pay more.

The Hamilton uses a very robust and easily serviced Valjoux movement. It’s just better than the one in the Omega.

Plus, even though they are the same price, the Omega is at least 20 years old and who knows the service history. The Hamilton is new (or newish) and you can enjoy it for years before you need a service. Don’t be surprised if the Omega gives you problems within a year if you buy it.

Agree and happy to see the Hamilton love. One thing to note is that the 3520.50 triple date i mentioned earlier has a Valjoux 7751 based movement, which is one reason I had chosen it over the reduced ( similar to your reasoning here.) While the 3520.50 is likely more than 1500 and is climbing in cost, I think a decent one can still be found between 1500 and 2000 and it is near the size of the reduced.

Still, not necessarily advocating one over the other.

More than a half-century back I used to correspond regularly with an uncle -- by handwritten letter, try that nowadays! He wanted to buy a new car and had listed all his candidates and rated their qualities with a comprehensive scoring system. Top score on the list was a VW Beetle, bottom of the list was a Bond Equipe (you may need to look this one up). His actual purchase?

The Bond -- in fact he bought another later. His explanation? You don't get to chose who you fall in love with. You just do.

Here is a side by side of the Pro vs Reduced. Every thread can always use more photos lol
I love the reduced! Until I see a pro or moon watch. I have an 1168 bracelet just itching to be strapped to a vintage or beat speedy. Arrrrrgh!!!

My vote is for the Hamilton. I've owned (and sold) both at various points. I regret selling the Hamilton, not the Reduced.

I am not an owner, but would choose Hamilton because:
1) more substantial on my 20-cm wrist (see below)!
2) has date;
3) can be bought new;
4) more aesthetically pleasing;
5) more going on on the dial. I would probably go for Panda variation (looks more classy and retro to me vs. reverse Panda OP posted and I post here).
The only disadvantage to me would be the ability to time up to 30-min (Hamilton) vs. 12-hr intervals.

I like the Hamilton dial, but the intra-matic has a thick unrefined case design with an all-polish finish that makes it look cheap (like a $250 Seiko or Tissot). Very blocky case and with a large unattractive crown and lazy milanese strap option rather than an integrated end-link design. The random date at the bottom doesn't make it any better.
