Welcome to OF!

Condition, condition, condition.

From what you described, I’d go for the -71…but you really don’t have to go for either one.

I second @Mad Dog 's advice

You don't need to go for either...

Be it a 69, 71, 74, 76... etc etc etc you have to be able to look down at it everyday on your wrist and love what you see.

Don't purchase it because someone, somewhere told you that you need to own a certain iteration of a watch... purchase the watch because it resonates with you.

I own a 76 and I absolutely love it, not because it was the one to get, but because it spoke to me.

Unless you want a specific reference or year, always go for condition, condition, condition.

Better to own a great -74 than an average -69

If the -69 you're apparently considering is so bad (mine, listed in FS), why use it as your profile picture?

Both Speedmasters listed here are good deals IMHO. @Wlcutter's watch has been serviced, which will set you back at least $800 in my part of the world. The condition on @Davidt's watch is a bit better and the price appropriately reflects that, but I would be happy wearing up either one. I don't think you would go wrong here.

Not a polite or cool way to make your grand entrance, @Rabi . I’d apologize, change my avatar, and try your introduction to this group again…but that’s just me.
