I rest my case!

Much more legible than the modern ones. I don't even know how anyone can tell the time with the new versions.

A Rolex isn't for telling the time........it's for pouncing about and showing everyone you have a Rolex!

There are some great Rolexes. If the Daytona had never changed much, someone would complain about the lack of options. You cannot make everyone happy.

What is incredible about the Speedmaster is that the serious collectors are not screaming for a leopard print dial, they are mostly interested in subtle variations. Snoopy being an exception. The design from all those years ago stands on its own, and really needs no improvement or major variation to keep selling.

Which is best is a question for the individual. Even if 99% agreed one way, the 1% would be totally justified to disagree. Of course it is endlessly fun to argue about too.

Those vintage Daytonas are magnificent. The current ones are hideous.

The vintage ones with the solid subdials are classic watches. The modern ones with the outlined subdials (hard to read) are status symbols.

Problem solved.
Post some pics when you get it.
If it's been done more than 1000 times, what is your purpose of another thread on this topic?
May have been done 1000 times, but people sure are interested. Look at the responses

The vintage Speedys I do agree with you on. The older Speedmaster were beautiful. However, the new versions awe also incredible. Don't see what why such a hate for this version of the speedy.

I ment the current Daytonas which I think are horrible. The current Speedmasters look great and better than the 1861 ones.

I agree, the new speedy, which I have , I feel, brings the vintage into the 2020's. The bracelet is better, clasp is better, upgraded movement, step dial and a DON bezel. What's not to love. Oh it looks equally as good on a leather strap. You put a leather strap on a Daytona and you have a franken watch. Daytona was a great tool watch, but some where in the watch's elevation, it turn from a luxury tool watch to a bling piece for the super rich and the want-ta-bes.

A man buys a Rolex to impress his girlfriend, but a man buys an Omega to impress his watchmaker.
The Daytona can't compare with the Pro in design, pedigree or lineage.
Rolex however has absolutely the best marketing in the world.

I see it's been a while since you've posted, but I'm curious if anyone here who owns both can speak to how often each gets wrist time lately. Does the Daytona still stand out as the more exciting choice, or has the Speedmaster won you over with its charm and history over time? Would love to hear how your preferences may have shifted since this was last discussed.
Don't own a Daytona, but I do own a Rolex GMT. The Seamaster currently gets 90% of my time, however I do switch it out sometimes for the Speedmaster. I think this is because I just purchased the Seamaster. The Rolex I have I only worn once this a year. I will take it out again when this love affair dies, but not just yet.
