Actually, I am not quite sure whether I am willing to sell this one, but here we go… Putting the feelers out. For sale a nice Speedmaster 376.0822 a.k.a. the Holy Grail in very good vintage condition. Recently I have decided that any of my watches should either get some wrist time or should be off to another home. As great as this watch is, I am not too comfortable wearing a piece as valuable as this one, hence it needs to go. Please find an assessment of the watch below. I have attempted to be as brutally honest as can be. Also note that I am certainly not the first owner of this watch as this watch is nearly the same age as I am. Hence I cannot guarantee originality of parts. Dial: The original dial with all lume plots perfectly in tact. Note the distinguishing features of an original dial with a closed box around the day/date indication and the printed ‘10’. English language day indication and as commonly seen with these, a slight colour difference between the shade of crème in the day versus the date discs. Hands: I believe these to be replacement, tritium, service hands. The - only - clear minus to this watch, IMHO. Case: Nice fat case with sharp edges. Possibly polished, certainly not recently. Some hairline scratches but overall in very good condition. Caseback is in perfect order. Bezel: Original B2 bezel (‘narrow C’) in great condition. Movement and Serial: The revered 1045 calibre with serial in the 482317XX range, hence one of the earlier Holy Grails as also signalled by the B2 bezel. Likely delivered around May 1987 based on the Watchbooks Only article on this reference. See: https://www.watchbooksonly.com/e-book/Holy-Grail-Only-by-WBO.pdf Runs and winds smoothly with all functions working properly. Screw heads look like new. The service history of this watch is unknown. I have only worn it sporadically. Bracelet: the famous 1450 with correct 809 end links in very good condition. Some stretch. Shipped worldwide, although I would strongly prefer a F2F deal in the Netherlands given the high value of this piece. No returns, please ask questions and extra pictures in advance. This is my second FS post on OF, although I have been buying here before and have sold through other platforms. I am not making a habit out of selling, as I am still looking towards expanding my modest collection. References and Linkedin profile available upon request. Price: €15500 (OBRO) On to the pictures… And of course the best of all, on the wrist:
Lots of likes, quite a few messages and trade proposals, but still available to find a new (loving!) home.
In response to a commonly asked question on this beauty; it does not come with box and papers, unfortunately. However, the 1450 / 809 bracelet is of course included.
Forgotten to update this thread. Watch has been sold and is off to a true Speedmaster enthusiast. Thanks to all members for their enthusiastic comments and to OF for hosting this incredible space.
