For the hands can do nothing here , this will be the most complicated part , good luck on that

I thank you, we will see, the change of the minute hand is not my priority at this point

Hello All

I recovered a holy grail recently,

but it suffered not very respectful treatment from a watchmaker during its life and quite a few parts were changed.

It works good, have a 1450/808

So I'm trying to put it back as close as possible to its original configuration,

as you can see it has a service dial, but I have the original dial which has lost some indexes,
I will have it restored soon, although wearing the watch with its service dial is not so bad,

my biggest concern is the back which is that of a moonwatch from 1971+, if you had any clue to find a correct case back, there are no more spares left at omega, I will have to ask them if a changing the case and caseback (the both as a lot) is possible ?

but you never know, I'm throwing this bottle into the sea in case someone can help me....

Hi, Chuck Maddox started the ball rolling with an article on the hunt for his grail watch, a 376.0822, he never used the term Holy Grail, it is a shame he is being miss quoted so often by so many, an awful lot should know better.

yes it's a story that I've known well for a long time,
however as you say his grail was the watch he bought, mine my grail is my speake-marin piccadilly marin 1, 15 years to obtain one,
everyone has their grail, but in language this reference has become the holy grail, that's how it is, we can't do anything about it,
and nothing will change this name any more than that of the rolex batman, batgirl, pepsi, coke... etc...

Good luck with finding all the bits and bobs necessary. It’s amazing what you can still find out there, for example here’s a dial (I’m guessing it’s a service dial?) Dial > NB this place has a wide range of hands, dials, etc passing through so worth keeping an eye out.
