Hello All

I recovered a holy grail recently,

but it suffered not very respectful treatment from a watchmaker during its life and quite a few parts were changed.

It works good, have a 1450/808

So I'm trying to put it back as close as possible to its original configuration,

as you can see it has a service dial, but I have the original dial which has lost some indexes,
I will have it restored soon, although wearing the watch with its service dial is not so bad,

my biggest concern is the back which is that of a moonwatch from 1971+, if you had any clue to find a correct case back, there are no more spares left at omega, I will have to ask them if a changing the case and caseback (the both as a lot) is possible ?

but you never know, I'm throwing this bottle into the sea in case someone can help me....

Thanks, i think i will need a lot of luck, Luckily it's a watch I want to wear and not to collect, so I can live with its flaws.

Maybe if you go back to the watchmaker that did the service you can find the original back. It had to be swapped somewhere. Good luck in your search. 馃馃徎

DNN bezel should be readily obtainable.

Not related to DNN the print type of the original bezel is different specially on the 70 .

there are both types of bezel on this model, B2 before February 88 and B4 after....
Having an insert with accent on Tachymeter would annoy me, (although...) but frankly I don't intend to bother with that.

For the hands, the minute hands are indeed not the right ones (the hour hands are), but I don't see where to find one.....

You could always look for a donor watch and well off the parts not needed. There might be something suitable in the sales area here on OF!!

I believe that the cal. 1045 Speedmaster Teutonic has the same handset. Maybe others can confirm and share the reference number.

Correct the Mark V Teutonic is the candidate , allways have one in case of issues with the hands as donor

Interesting project. My guess is that you have almost no chance of finding an original dial with tritium, so a sympathetic relume of your dial is the most likely way forward. As to the hour hand, you may find one, but is the lume likely to match the hour hand in shade. Then there's the colour match and condition of the white paint around it. Does your serial number fall in with the non hooked 7? You've made an excellent start with a case back swap so good luck with the rest of the journey 馃憤

I feel sorry for that poor Teutonic lying there waiting to be cannibalised

I thank you Paul for your proposal, I have two dials for HG, both original with rims of the sub-counters, I would just redo the tritium of at least one and the hands, the rest of the work is mainly to find a vintage hand for the minutes immediately.
