That is exactly the watch I was hoping and expecting the new 321 to be housed in for us mortals. However, I am also expecting the price to be something north of $10k ($12k-15k?) which would be over my limit for purchasing a watch.

No way. Probably no more than $6k or $7k

Its 100% correct.
2020 is the 50th anniversary of Apollo 13, so I expect an Apollo 13 LE. 2020 is also the 55th anniversary of Gemini IV / first American EVA, and I did not expect any Gemini IV / Ed White LE - so this is how Omega does it ... would not shock me if it were a numbered edition, a la FOIS.

Lol. There's no way Omega would price this in direct competition with the (presumed) 3861 Speedmaster. Definitely agree with an estimate of north of 5 figures.

Way. Think about it......a sapphire sandwich is $6,350 with the standard 1861 movement. Do you really think Omega is going to give you the 321 movement, ceramic bezel and vastly nicer bracelet for the same price, especially after all the hoopla with the reintroduction of the column wheel movement? As John McEnroe used to say, "You have got to be kidding me". $12-$15k range.

The reference number 311.30.40.30.01.001 above the title indicates a reissue. I'd rather save up and get an original 105.003 or even a 105.012 from the secondary market. Even if that means forfeiting the display case back.

I think you are dreaming since the 60th Anniversary Speedmaster was $7,300 and it didn't even have the new 321 movement. However, if you are right, then I will be in a pickle since I already own a 60th Anniv. and my wife won't let me buy another Speedy.

have not seen this 105.003 reissue before, but it is a great headturner. the classic unguarded crown and pushers. hope to see
more details on this, especially the ss pricing.😉 maybe the post title should be edited to Ed White 105.003 321B Reissue.

You can always converse to display caseback for vintage speedie. There is aftermarket part for that

Exciting stuff! Applied logo and DoN bezel feel more 'earned' here than on FOiS, but maybe that's just Ed White name recognition and the fact that it's accompanied by a 321...

Understand others' preference for the hippocampus caseback, but for my money (particularly if its 5 figures of it!) you have to show off this movement. Hoping for a 4 figure price tag, but not holding my breath...

True, but that would defeat the purpose. I mean if Omega sells a reissued 321 for the price of an original vintage 321, with the only differences being a display case back and modern package, that's a hard pass for me.

Now if Omega was to sell a 321 as a standard Moonwatch - in lieu of, or alongside the 1861 - at the same 5k-6k price range that would make a very compelling proposal IMHO. Even with the standard "FLIGHT QUALIFIED BY NASA ..." steel case back.

I sure as hell hope Omega doesn't try to pull a Rolex and offer these at 12k, but keep them in the safe only for VIPs so these go for 20k

I want that bracelet for my fois.... Hopefully it's purchasable separately and fits the fois.

I doubt because I don't think the 60th trilogy 19mm fits the FOIS and this seems to reuse that

So, can the vintage aficionados tell us if the case is based on the 105.003-64, or later Ed Whites?

If that becomes official, today (Tuesday) would be a good day for it.

Today's Speedy Tuesday article at Fratello is not out yet.😎

I would expect it to be in the £10k-£12k range so to play against the Rolex Daytona. More importantly would this mean there are more spares available for the older 321’s?

A good question.

Can’t really tell from these pics. It doesn’t look much like the small defined lug facet that -65 models have. It could be the -64 lug (curved side no facet) or it could just be another example of the over large facet seen on the Trilogy and FOIS. Hopefully it’s the -64 profile since that’s what Ed White actually wore. If it does have the large facet, that and the bracelet suggest they recycled the Trilogy case. I am going to guess it is the -64 profile, so a “new’ design vs the FOIS/Trilogy.
