·The past week, there were lots of Speedys up for auctions here in Sweden!
YIPPIE!
😀
one 105.012-64
one 105.012-66
one 145.022-68
two 145.022-69
Sadly none of them were in any nice/good condition, and had lots of service parts etc…
But since I have a soft spot for 105.012´s, I decided to try and assess that one (the 66).
The dial looked nice and clean, a bit hard to zoom in since the crystal was very scratched.
I did not ask for more pictures or called them regarding the condition of the dial.
The indices were not attractive and had lumeloss, with a dull color.
The hands had brownish lume, and could have been adjusted.
It had a CB case, with lots of scratches and deep marks.
But the facets looked very nice!
Opening marks on the caseback.
Serviced at least one time, and badly serviced since the movement was not nice (damaged screwheads etc) and with some missing screws.
Serial nr was correct for the reference.
Service bezel and service crystal.
There were the nice fat and short pushers, and also the flatfoot crown - and these are the things that we love?
I did my best to find the watch attractive, and maybe convincing myself to have it as a daily, but with no success....
I even did a David (thanks @Davidt ) on this one - Do I Want it?
And the answer was NO!
I placed the value between poor and fair, closer to fair.
It needed a serious service, new screws etc.
A correct bezel (in the future maybe..)
And wanting to live with the damage case/caseback, and the dial...
I followed the auction (of course...😉),
and not much action - the hammer fell at 5170 € /5450 $ including the premium.
This values the watch between Fair and Good using Speedmaster101.
The Swedish kronor is very week at the moment, so I do think that this one left the country…
Correct or wrong assessment?
Cheers!
