They may be concerned over their profits, but so are shareholders apparently.

We see them sell a few high priced items and assume they’re making big profits, but in reality the paremt company is not (at least not on the whole - if share price history is any indication).

Direct correlation, right? Unlimited LE numbers appeared starting from 2016/2017.

I hope the steel version will have at least some gold in it, since it’s the golden anniversary after all
The rumor is it will have a gold bezel. I would guess Moonshine gold but would love to see white gold!

True. Revenue growth rates in watches are no longer what they used to be (note that PP and Rolex figures are not public). Fashion and jewels have been performing better over the past few years, hence stocks like Kering have been faring much better. On top of that, you have a few watchmakers at Swatch, like Breguet, that are experiencing difficulties, say the least. Hence, the share price performance...

Yes, white gold details would be great. That would be a nice argument for the expected price.

Beautiful and a faithful reissue.. but at £25,600 out of my league unless I sell a child or kidney...

Compromise: sell a child’s kidney. You can leave them the watch as payment when the time comes.

That's a great idea! I've got five kids so that equals five great watches right?

Then you probably also are aware that Rolex is probably the only brand (perhaps with Patek) where you can experience
Then you probably also are aware that Rolex is probably the only brand (perhaps with Patek) where you can experience this. You also know about their strategy of just not delivering watches. Thing is, I don't buy as an investment, yet I have never lost on a Speedmaster. A Seamaster or Constellation, perhaps and I know you will take it based on RRP, but with a Speedmaster I simply never lost. That said, I buy what I like and what I want to give some wear. I have my Rolexes, my AP, my other things, but what I truly enjoy wearing are Speedmaster watches. If that costs a bit of money, fine.

On the long term, I am pretty sure that my collection will have and hold a certain value. I don't sell watches often (only to purchase others), but I can imagine I would make a loss when I would sell this gold Speedmaster within a certain timeframe of purchasing. But I have no intentions to do so and I can imagine that in 20 years from now, the value will be over today's retail. Much worse than the 0.20% I get on my savings account isn't going to happen anyway.
I agree. I should add that only a few Rolex watches are actually investment pieces and only because Rolex choose not to release them in the market.
For example what would be the actual resale value of a modern Pepsi ss gmt if it was as readily available as the Speedmaster? It would sell below retail, as the Speedmaster.
Cheers

Must say, I love the look of this watch and, with a bit of luck, I might be lucky with my AD here in the UK. Fingers crossed.

Just read through all of SWGAY's financials, and that is a pretty solid company. $8B annual revenue, 14% EBIT, very little debt. Seem to be carrying a massive amount of inventory and depreciating it every year. Other than that, good cash flow and on the face of it, a well run company.

BTW, stock price is not an indicator of the health of a company.

Does anyone know if it’s even sold out yet?
I suspect it'll take a while.

>$30k price point and full "yellow" gold doesn't appeal to the masses like a $6,500 Steel Snoopy Edition would.

Defintiely not for the average person or collector, and honestly a disappointing choice IMHO.

Also, to call this a “limited edition” is laughable with those production numbers.

Just my 2 cents

These numbers are actually low compared to prior limited editions. Silver Snoopy Edition had 1970, I believe

I agree but if you were a buyer of this at 30K+, I would like better exclusivity.

Curious how many should be considered LE as of your opinion? As of mine, considering the fact that there are over 7 bln people around the globe 1014 pcs is quite limited number.

As of MHO number does not matter as it is just one part of equation. The other is even more important - demand. Some say Silver Snoopy should have been made in 7970 pcs, but that happened after demand peaked. At the beginning it did not attract such interest and I did not read anybody saying number was low.
