It's part of risk/reward. With some experience, your luck improves. Agree with others who say this was a good buy. It'll be a great watch you can wear without freaking out over tiny scratches.

It also demonstrates why watches need cleaning, including taking off tge bezel occasionally. Lots of crud accumulates, which will turn to rust if left long enough.

Me too mate...probably at least half my collection came this way....back in the glory days it was generally good for an approx 30%- 50% discount to market :whistling:

Agree I get most of my watches this way. Either terrible crystals and/or caked in dirt

I generally think most damage we see to the bezels and crystals to vintage watches come from poor storage. Many of these will have needed a service in the lates 70’s/80’s at which point I imagine many were retired to a desk drawer as they were too nice to throw out. However, often not considered nice enough to be carefully stored so they were relegated to that drawer most houses used to have which contained pens, sunglasses, paperclips and all that other shit that didn’t have a proper home.

Romain, you know me - I am a bit careful with the "older" references... but learning!
    ;)

And I am a bit "sore" on my trigger finger right now...I have done a few too many purchases recently!

But soon Santa might come by??

    Cheers, and take care!

It looks like it was stored in a bag full of nickles for 40 years to me but I like vintage watches to look new.

Well.. Could be way worse. For its age I don’t think it is all bad. Better raw like this than polished. But each to their own.

The bezel isn’t great though so I will probably swap that to a nice one. Should have a good vintage pulsometer around.

Quick and dirty. Probably need to replace the crystal too.

Next to the 2915-3. Remarkable how big difference it is in color between the early dial and this one. One is grey and the other one is black. Also the Base 1000 bezel is glossy and not matte like later ones.

Just a quick question on the price, because I am thinking about buying on Bukowskis too: 11650€ was including the 25% Swedish VAT?

For the rest, congratulations to the buyer of this beautiful example :)
