Hi OF!

It has been more that a month now without any auction reports..😁

But here is one that I followed!

It is a 145.022-71, with serial 31.6 mil.
Stepped dial, the Omega logo is painted, short indices etc.
And a 1039 bracelet which always is a bonus, even though it looked tired.

This one was of course on many platforms, so it must have gotten lots of attention!

I had to ask for more pictures and info, and the auction house was very helpful,
they even took some time to shoot some videos on the watch!

I was told that the dial was scratchfree and with no oilspots/blemishes.
The lume was full with a nice colour.
Not sure about the hands, the lume was darker (which is normal), but with uneven edges and uneven color,
and the white had discolorations and where a bit ”bubbly”.

The bezel was faded, and had some scratches and marks.
The case had nice brushings left, but with a watchmakers light and easy polish.
Case back was clean/no marks.

24 tooth crown, and dirty pushers, so original maybe?

Movement looked ok, some marks to the screwheads, but nothing weird.

The estimate was 3780 € / 4095 $ including the premium.
But the pre-biding was up to 5545 € / 6000 $!

And in my opinion - Way too high, so I didn't make any masterplans on this one.

But I followed the action on the auction!
😉

And the watch got lots and lots of bids, and it ended at 6300 € / 6500 $ including the premium!

Pretty strong results considering that the watch could (at the best) be a Good/Good + (depending on the dial)!

Well - enjoy, and please do comment!

Somebody must have wanted a 1039 bracelet. 🙄

I agree, Hans, that was high for that condition. Hopefully it'll look better in person. Maybe the lighting in the photos washed it out, but it looks bland.

That’s not a 6k ‘71. Mad Dog has an example that’s worth 6k. I know because it used to be mine.

Its not the best lighting to show the dial but it certainly doesn’t seem to pop the way the best dials do. Seems a strong price.

The 1039 bracelet does add considerable value though.

That’s not actually the one I sold, it’s a different one from my collection. I had a bit of an obsession with the last step dial Speedies last year 😵‍💫

Not this one... Severely over-polished and missing folded links.

This is nuts to me, there is a beautiful -71 for sale over at Speedmaster101's sales site right now for less than the -71 auction price but serviced, in better condition, and single owner.

I’m sitting on a goldmine. Should I buy the yacht or the the chateau?

Thanks mate!
But the weather in Sweden is finally getting nice, so not so much time for Speedyhunting!
