Hey, JimInOz, is that the Bergeon case opener?

And you were complaining about the price of epilame bottles, jeez.

Nope, it's a clone/replica/homage, much cheaper 😁.

And I got an epilame bottle, got sick of trying to design one myself.

After the foggy Seamaster spent 5 days being dried out on a warm windowsill, it was time to get it ready for collection tonight.

Not much to see that's different, I did clean and re-lubricate the caseback seal though.

The remainder was just a reversal of earlier shots, and now we have a nice dry watch ready for its happy owner.

One thing that @bindo noticed was a mark on the crystal. I checked under the microscope and it's on the surface.

Maybe a scratch on the AR coating?

Anyway, it's only noticeable at certain angles and the crystal will probably suffer more scratches in the future as it gets worn more and more.

I’ve got no words to express how grateful I am for the great job you’ve done on the watch Jim. Everything is of beyond satisfactory and I just couldn’t be happier. Thanks so much for saving me all the trouble at a time of such horror. Please keep safe and I wish you nothing but the best sir!!! 😀 Will meet up again and have a drink once this corona thing is over.( After all we are neighbours) .

No problems V, it was a pleasure to be able to help you.
And I think I probably owe you for a drink after receiving my "no payment required" payment 😉.
Cheers
Jim

Thanks so much for all the replies guys. Does anyone of you know someone here in Melbourne who can look at the watch? I tried calling James Jameson from "Omega watch repairs melbourne" but to no avail. It'll be heaps easier for me to get it done locally as opposed to sending the watch interstate. Please let me know guys. What a wonderful time this damn watch decided to break on me 🙁

You can try Michael Presser in Melbourne. He’s worked on a couple of my watches and does very good work.

Adam from Lewis Watch Co in Perth is excellent. He recently serviced a Speedmaster of mine and did a spectacular job. I know he was mentioned above and you may be reluctant to put the watch in the post but the whole thing was very easy.

Over to you, you will be satisfied either way.

Cheers,

Mark

...and it pays to read the whole thread before hitting reply. At least I got my first post out of the way.

The first one is always the hardest, but it gets easier as you go along.
I agree with your recommendations too. Both have good reputations.

Nowra based at all?
