I thought I would share some photos of my SMP and the deployant rubber strap that I decided to get over the old rubber tang buckle. I would highly recommend it. I'm rather clumsy and have come close to dropping the watch several times while trying to buckle the old strap. In my opinion, the deployant strap should be an option from the factory.

I bought this SMP from WatchBox before Christmas last year. After wearing it for a while, i noticed it was running a second or two slow per day. It wasn’t a big deal, but I did let WB know and asked if they could regulate it for me. They sent an overnight return label and intended to let their watchsmith take a look at it, but ultimately sent it to OSC since it was still under factory warranty. After getting it back and having it on the wrist for a few weeks now, it has been running around +1/day, which is perfection in my opinion. I posted a picture of the parts OSC returned. It looks like the movement was completely rebuilt. Even the escapement was replaced which I thought to be unusual.

I also noticed that the pallet fork looks like it is missing a stone. This might have been the issue with it running slow? @Archer

I’m amazed that you (or anyone) could notice a watch running two seconds slow (or fast for that matter) a day.

With that kind of affinity for tine maybe you don’t need a watch? 😁

Hey Rowdy, encouraging to read someone else has the same concerns as I do regarding how easy it is for the strap to fall through your fingers. The clasp on yours looks cool. Was it easy to resize? I haven’t got huge wrists so I’m always cautious!

I think you’re on the wrong thread. This post is not about your quartz timepiece.

There is no cutting to resize if that’s what you’re asking. It’s just a typical deployant type strap that you can adjust up or down to your liking.

If that was the state inside the watch, it would have much larger problems than running slow...

Sick burn dude.

But seriously - how do you notice your watch being 2 seconds plus or minus a day? Genuine question.

Also, One of my Quartz timepieces says hi.

Love the Megaquartz! I use an app that is supposed to keep tabs on atomic time. I compare my watch with the app every now and then to see how all my mechanical watches are running. This SMP was running a couple seconds behind, which is not within 8800 spec, but still very accurate. Since it was out of spec, I asked the dealer to regulate since it was probably only going to get worse down the road.

Interesting stuff, thanks for sharing @Rowdy 👍

Personally, I set my watch to atomic time on Saturday evening. I wear it all week and check it the next Saturday night and see how +/- it is for the week. Then divide by 7. My Aqua Terra consistently runs about 2.25 seconds fast per day or 16 seconds fast per week.

Averaging over a longer period of time is best, then look at daily rate when you notice something is off. I also have an AT. They are great watches.

I doubt it would work without the stone…
