That's to all the new folks wondering why we never recommend you to send your watches to Omega for a Service....

Looks shiny and New? Yes!

Historic value left? Not much!

Probably now holds the same value as a new WatchCo manufacture...

Some odd things going on there. 166.0324 is a service parts case, so why did that need restoring? Also it's a non-date in the first photo and a date in the others.
Edited to add: It gets odder. Further down the page the seller says this is a 552 in a 165.024 case.

You're right! I just saw this after waking up, must have slipped through my sleepy vision. There Is something fishy with this listing...

If I were forced to send a vintage watch to any manufacturer, I would clearly state what would not be acceptable (e.g. case polishing, re-lume, etc.), and reinforce it in writing. Were the manufacturer not to agree to my terms, I would find a work-around.

Yes, sometimes a hard-to-find part is required. But I would still refuse to do (service) business with a company that makes outrageous demands.

I would rather buy a watchco "re-edition" one and be happy with what it is, as buying a botched up original wondering what it could've been.

As collectors we know how to look after vintage watches, but sadly others don't.

I did just that and am very happy with it. I wouldn't dare to wear an original one for fear of spoiling it. And I daren't even THINK about a Speedmaster.

BTW, I just contacted the seller about the contradicting pictures. Let's see If I get a response.

Edit: just got an answer. Somehow there was a "mistake" he's selling the date Version.

Looks very dodgy to me. Unless he has 2 restored originals for sale I would suspect that the presence of the contradictory photos suggests a scammer. Date Windows don't disappear and magically reappear. It's probably just a modern rebuild (amateur Watchco) advertised creatively. Or a scam.
