Not that. But the timeline matches the release of the white Speedy.
It is therefore very likely that the watch will be released in spring 2025 and that the first official high-resolution promotional photos will be published by Omega at the end of this year. Including the technical data/highlights of the watch.

Hello everyone,
I'm thinking about buying another Seamaster Diver 300M. The classic black one with a rubber strap. I just fell in love with this watch when I saw it live the other day.
I currently have 3 Seamaster Diver 300M variants of the current generation, such as the NTTD, or the one with the white dial.
The Diver 300M has been on the market for 6.5 years now. If you look at the release times of the Diver 300M, then theoretically a new version should be released soon:
1993
2006
2012
2018

Of course, Omega may not release a new generation for another 2-3 years. However, I think at the latest when filming starts on the new James Bond movie (planned for 2025, even if there is still no lead actor). So it could be that a new generation is released as early as next year.
I would be very annoyed if I bought a new Diver 300M now and the new generation will be released next year.
As I already have several Diver 300M, it would probably make more sense for me to wait until the next generation will be released and then buy 1-2 new Diver 300M.
But I've somehow fallen in love with the black version and it's been a while since I bought a watch.
My head says no, my heart says yes.

If I knew that Omega wouldn't be releasing a new generation in 2-3 years, then I would certainly buy the watch now. However, if a new generation will be released next year, then I would grit my teeth and just wait for the release. I know you can get the watch quite cheaply on the gray market (about 20% cheaper than in the Omega Boutique, where the watch is only available at list price). But for me, it is not an option not to buy an Omega watch in my Omega Boutique.
I would pay the full list price. So I want to be sure that I am making the right decision, because buying the watch at full list price and selling it in 1-2 years just to buy the new generation is financial nonsense.
I'm going on vacation in a few weeks and would love to take the watch with me. And I would also love to enjoy this watch for the rest of the summer.

I really am completely at a loss and torn. As great as my desire for the watch is, I don't want to make a stupid decision that I will regret later.

What would you do if you were me?
What would be your recommendation?

Thank you in advance!
I'd probably go ahead and buy it. But impulse buying is what I do, just bought a hesalite moonwatch to go with the white one thats 2 months old....

Buy now and enjoy. There will ALWAYS be something new on the horizon and FOMO to go with it. Incremental “Updates” & “improvements” to drive more sales is prevalent in so many products now, and most of it is marketing B.S.

Phones, computers, TV’s, vehicles, watches, etc, etc. The list goes on forever in this throw away world where most products are no longer built to last and stand the test of time….because the “latest & greatest” just came out to drive sales and change your perception of what you already own. No thanks!

Not all “improvements” are good or even needed. I can’t help but think of music…why does a low watt fairly crappy old Marantz receiver with a turntable and average speakers seem to sound so much freakin better than my $1500 Samsung soundbar setup? “Better” is subjective that’s why! 😀 Also it’s hard to beat true analog stereo separation lol…for the music I love anyways.

I’m a big fan of the current 300M. Had the white dial and loved it. You can get some really good deals on brand new ones from sellers on this forum.

People waiting for an update to the main collection Planet Ocean (me) have been waiting 8 years at this point...

If you already like the current generation 300M, it's probably worth buying and enjoying it until the next generation is released (whenever that may be). There's no guarantee that the new model will end up satisfying you after all. If you do end up liking it, as other members have suggested, you can just upgrade.

I'd recommend (as someone said earlier) the no-wave ceramic SMPc. Here is mine in black, on an Erikas Originals MN strap. Very classy and versatile. I'm also waiting to see what happens with the new model. The whole Daniel Craig thing here recently at the Olympics has us all more curious.
