Hello fellow fanatics!

I have a vintage Omega Seamaster De Ville ref. 14775-SC-61 with an Omega cal.610 that needs a new crown.

I ordered a new crown advertised as a "Seamaster De Ville crown" which looks like the exact same crown as mine... except the female stem is a bit longer, so the crown doesn't fit (it won't collapse to the side of the case as it should).

I had no idea there were several stem lengths for Seamaster De Ville crowns. Do any of you have more info about this? What reference should I seek?

Thanks!

Stems often need to be trimmed to the correct length. A watchmaker will know how to do it, or you can just give it a try. De-burr the cut end before threading it into the crown. And remember, you can't make it longer again if you trim too much.

These crowns with the fixed female stem are case (reference) specific (technically they all are), so while some may look similar as you've found they aren't all the same.

Did the seller specifically say it was for a 14775?

OP, ignore my post. I didn't know it was a one-piece crown-stem combo. That's not something I've encountered.

No, I just naively assumed it was the correct crown because it's a De Ville crown and has the exact same appearance as mine.
