路That looks like a beauty. Just take note of the rotor rubbing on the caseback -- unless it has already been serviced to correct that issue you will need to get is serviced ASAP.

Take a look at the inside of the caseback, and see the 'ring' near the center. That corresponds with the ground-down edge of the rotor also shown in one of the photos. The movement photo seems to have been taken from an angle to minimize the visibility, but once you see the circle on the caseback it tells you to look very carefully at the rotor in the movement pics.
馃槈Looks good at first glance, although I'm not personally a big fan of the c-case models.
I may be looking to start a collection of the Constellations - I will see what will be my reaction to this first piece, when it arrives tomorrow 馃槈
Can you share some reference pictures and recommendations regarding some black-dialed classics? 馃榾
Great advice above...
As someone fairly new to watches myself. If I may, I would suggest that for watches you are interested in, take some time to write your own critique of them and then post that, along with good photos. The value here is that you will learn a lot more when you go through the critique process yourself first, and your education will be further accelerated by weighing the OF responses to your critique. If you haven't yet done so, read all the sticky threads too. And as many here do, play along with other posts to see what advice you would give before you read the replies. Testing yourself in this way will build knowledge. There is a lot of fake and franken out there, and even if money isn't an obstacle to you, then I would venture that you will enjoy your watches more when you know more about them. I hope you stick around.
That's my 0.02. That constellation you just bought is sure to start a conversation or two when you wear it. Enjoy it!

My recommendations for black dialed vintage watches (when buying ORIGINAL dial variants).
1. Always assume it's a re-dial.
2. Educate yourself on dial layout/fonts/markers for the period of any particular watch you are considering
3. Never accept seller descriptions of "original dial", determine that for yourself.
4. Always inspect it first hand if possible, preferably in good light using a 4x loupe.
5. If buying on-line, make sure you are able to return it if the description does not match the watch.
6. Never buy one based on poor pictures.
7. Always read descriptions very very carefully, pay more attention to what hasn't been said.
It goes without saying that you shouldn't focus only on the dial, look at the watch in totality.
Thanks Dan. I think you are right, but I really hope I will be able to find the right mixture of both with a soul...
What do you think about this Constellation cal 751?
*Disclaimer: I'm a complete newbie at this, so take my words with many grains of salt*
It appears that this watch is missing a seconds hand and that these hands don't look original, based on the examples that I've seen in the past.
You mean this seconds hand?
Hour and minute hands look OK to me. Just plain silver probably looking off due to lighting angles/reflection.
No, it's pointing to the seconds hand just coming past the minute hand.
If you look at the centre you can quite clearly see the centre boss and pipe of the seconds hand.
