Hi guys, I am trying to identify my first Omega Seamaster Automatic vintage "bumper". I can't seem to find the exact model online to verify it's authenticity. It's working well, very accurate but it needs some servicing.

Thanks for all your help.

I’m very happy to be corrected but I’m afraid that the reason you can’t find a matching model is because yours has been repainted at some point.

The writing, the rail track and the cross hairs add to that suspicion.

If it’s a recent acquisition and the seller has made no mention of the ‘refurbished’ dial you may be able to return it.

Or, if you like it, just wear it and enjoy it.

Looks fine to me. Uncommon variety for sure, but radium in the right spots and crisp text on a textured dial.

That is the correct information, Seamaster is the model, 2577 is the reference number, and 136883212 is the serial number. What else did you want to know?

Hi Dan,
The model and reference number provided online show a different watch. @Spruce has suspicions that the watch may have been repainted at some point that’s why I can’t find an exact match. Thanks.

Perhaps you are trying to identify the watch using the dial? The dial is irrelevant. Your watch is a 2577, no question. Each reference came with many different dial/handset combinations. And I wouldn't jump to conclusions about your dial, it may be fine.

There is an entire thread on the forum showing various 2577 variants.

You are right. That’s exactly what I am trying to identify. Good to know the dial is irrelevant. Thanks for the link.

Dial isn’t irrelevant, but there were hundreds of variants so it’s not concerning if you haven’t been able to find it.

The dial looks original to me.

Yes, that's more precise.
