Hi guys, found this example of a quadrant dial SMDV..
Hey I ended up with that one! It didnt sell at auction, think it was listed a little high, I PMd the seller and made an offer. Its quite nice. The dial is wild when the light hits the brushed sections a certain way. And because the brushing is perdendicular per quadrant, it will flip flop light/dark when the light source angle changes. Really fun piece. BOR is authentic and in great shape as well. 😀

Another SDV special dial popped up in local watch forum. This is a 565 caliber with serial number 24M, rose gold capped. Stamped “MBF” between lugs. First time ever I saw such stamp between lugs. What does it mean please look at first pic below?

Check this thread, it might help:

EDIT: Thread linking seems to be a bit wonky right now, link seems to redirect to one of the images in thread. You can copy and paste the link.

As a new caretaker of about 30 SM dials (geneve, deville, plain, cosmic, century, etc) and cases, these threads have been monumentally helpful to me. I've got a long road of research ahead of me, but that's the fun stuff. Thanks PlainVanilla for probably shaving years of time off my hunt!

Thought I would add this to the thread. Listed as a technical dial in the first post but slightly different and not shown otherwise in thread. Includes nice vertical brushing and a polished edge of the dial with the sporty/technical dial markings on edge as well.

I don’t believe this reference (OT14323) has made an appearance in this tread. Early 50s deluxe chronometer rated with hooded lugs!
