Nice! Strangely what I do really like on this new model is the Poseidon case back. Don’t know why either, just drawn to it. Would love it on my current black SMP vs. the transparency for viewing the 8800….since not a lot of it is visible anyway.
Exhibition caseback was high on my list as mine was my first decent watch. It’s weird that I am also drawn to the new caseback too for some reason. It’s very nicely done and probably down to already having one with movement on show.

I hear you on the green one too. I really like that and would have been my choice if around when I got mine 18 months ago. It’s too close in colour to the Black to have both though, plus I do really love everything about my Black one.

I did find it a bit odd when I first saw the Green in store as there was something alien about the dial. Took me a while to realise it was the plain White text compared to the part Red text on the Black. Amazing how different even that seems.

I’ve been struggling to articulate what it is about these all blue watches that bothers me, then it struck me.

Guess if you like rockin’ a Canadian Tuxedo, these would be perfect.

😉

Don”t forget the hat…

Rolex fan boy lol. I am actually flattered since many would consider me further down the Omega rabbit hole than is healthy so I'll take that. You are throwing out random dates for incomparables there. I already said why earlier but continue to witter all you like if it makes you happy. There is nothing particularly significant in Omega launching the Seamster label in 1948. It was a marketing first but not particularly a technical leap. As I said, many other waterproof watches had come before, many from Omega in fact.

You are so funny, trying to belittle me. In any case here is the explanation straight from the horses mouth…

“1948 references the launch of the Seamaster line which was OMEGA's first family of watches. As you may know, between 1940 and 1945, OMEGA delivered more than 110,000 timepieces to the British Ministry of Defence; the Seamaster was created due to the demand following the success of those timepieces. A blend of battle-proven technology and beautiful design"

I don't need to belittle you, you are doing a great job all on your own. In summary, you start off making a claim that these watches are somehow a snub to Rolex. I queried in what way since other than stating you hate Rolex as an organisation have offered no explanation. You next quoted some irrelevant dates for the launches of 2 rotating bezel divers (both of which came before Omegas 2913 btw) and now you are regurgitating some irrelevance about the Omega dirty dozen mil watches. I ask again, what bearing does this launch have on Rolex? Are you not just a hater who has gotten a little out of his depth with the facts?

Goodness…

You know what would be awesome? Omega/Rolex co-branding an LE, like MoonSwatch.
What would happen? Would no Omega “fan” buy it cos of the crown? No Rolex “fan” would stoop to buying an inferior watch?

Ok, fashion is a ciclycal system, but Omega nowadays is one step behind other brands.

I have read that you'll never buy omega watches again. Bon voyage.

Really?
Where did you read that?
I don't discard second hand. Even brand new with 40% discounts.

And you lose the lumed bezel on the 300 Heritage along with the iconic orange hand on the PloProf. All in all, while there are good aspects of all of these watches, I don’t think any one nailed it from a design point. Just making everything a different shade of blue is about as exciting as making your kitchen all white.

Ironically, I think the loss of the lumed bezel (I didn't know this detail) is a positive- but I totally recognize that's subjective. I really like the blue of both the dial and the numerals; but my concern is that the lume itself will be underwhelming to the human eye because it's blue and (presumably) Omega's 'blue' lume.

Of these, the heritage and the PloProf look great, but I'm meh-ish on the rest. Pictures I've seen not on Omega's site though, have looked great- so jury is out for me.

Agreed, Poseidon caseback is cool and I kinda wonder if it would fit on my 8400. I doubt it.
