Dear Omega fans,
Do you heard a rumors or maybe know something and can share: when to expect a new generation of SMP 300? Few last generations was launched in 6-year period range.

Thank you for your comments

The first generation Seamaster Professional was in production for 19 years, if Omega's own internal reckoning is used, it was only the introduction of the Cal.2500 Co-axial movement and an very slight update to the bezel that appeared in 2006. Omega regards the Seamaster Professional update in 2006 as being the same generation as the original. The 2012 redesign of the watch with a new design for the dial, bezel and bracelet seems to be regarded by Omega as a new generation of the Seamaster Professional. As far as Omega are concerned therefore there are only three generations of Seamaster Diver 300M (nee Professional), the 1993 version that was lightly revised in 2006, the 2012 version and the 2018 version. The 2018 iteration is therefore unlikely to change a great deal over the next decade. It is to some degree similar to the Speedmaster Professional, an iconic Omega design instantly recognisable from 20 paces as an Omega and one that changes slowly over time, almost in a Rolex fashion. My sources suggest taht the Seamaster Diver will last in production for at least another decade but will see some updates to the movement as Spirate is rolled out across the Omega range in a similar way to the METAS Master Chronometer rollout. There will be variations on the theme however, Nekton, Bond Editions, Olympic for example being the most obvious. But, the green dial version and the Summer Blue will be variations that are not around for very long. The Summer Blue for about 12 months and the green dial for perhaps two years in total. The core range of blue, black and white will be around for the duration of the watch's life span but I have heard that the grey dial version is being produced in lesser quantities at the moment. No doubt there will be further colour variations as the watch goes through it's lifespan. A Red dial is possible, there was a Japan only red dial of the original generation of course. I would alos expectt o see a 36mm "Mid-size" version soon and potentially a GMT version too.
