Tissot, Oris and so many others had the same dial idea years ago.
Omega one step behind again.

And Tudor, with its boutique editions and brown dials, albeit in bronze.

I do find the gradation, but it seems pretty aggressive in the pix on that woeful web gallery. It's great to be able to see the centre of your watch clearly at a glance, but that ain't where the time lives.

My first-look choice would be the SM300, but at * CAD 10,100 * before taxes, it's a hard pass for now.

Seems like a move right out of Grand Seiko’s playbook…color change with a long sexy marketing description tied to the ocean depths. Substitute lion emblem for Poseidon and raise the price. I do like the case back a lot, but none of these changes will motivate me to open the wallet.

Since the beginning omega has had dials very specials and with many colours.

Soooo blue dials. They look good but hardly exciting. I will say the Seamaster 300 in blue looks awesome.

Edit: At least the cats out of the bag so I can focus on work today instead of trolling here looking for updates. Although, the banter of these events is most of the fun.
Well said, so true! I picked up my phone as soon as I woke up this morning to see what reality was compared to the fantasy changes in my head. My wallet and my black SMP 300 are both safe.

It also, incorrectly, says the Seamaster 300 ( heritage ) is the Seamaster 304.

Not a fan of these blue-painted indices and bezel. And from the lume videos they have online, the bezel isn't even lumed. I'm sticking with the fauxtina on the one I have. This whole release is very underwhelming.

+1. Disappointed with this release, will be looking towards Grand Seiko for a Hi-Beat GMT.

It's funny they release a blue dial when my OB tells me my Speedy 57 wont arrive until autumn as they are having trouble with the ingredients for the blue dye.... Personally I like one or two of todays releases and they will be popular in Dublin as they are the County Dublin Gaelic football colours.

And some had the gall to expect a 75 year anniversary SMP Diver GMT 😝

What intrigues me is the smaller Ploprof! I've had my eye on a titanium one for a long while, but a smaller case size in OmegaSteel. This is the one that has piqued my curiosity...!

I wouldn't make that connection. It is extremely difficult to get consistent shades. I wouldn't be surprised if the new releases have issues as well. Something not highlighted is how they pulled of gradient finish on ceramic. There is definitely some clever engineering going on. I am not too excited about these releases, but I am impressed with the execution.

Not really - Omega has done these gradient dials in the past as well...

What’s old is new again. Whether it’s watches, clothing, cars, whatever…color and design seems to eventually always go full circle with small tweaks to differentiate from the past.

I'll look at these in person but none really call to me, not like the green SMP from last year. I mean, maybe if I hadn't bought the green, I'd likely be a little more interested.

I read on the Omega website:

"A blue ceramic bezel with a Summer Blue enamel (Grand feu) diving scale encircles the dial . . . "

The diving scale is the numbers, etc. on the insert, correct?

Upon reflecting after a few hours have gone by since the release. I really dig the baby blue aqua terra. Probably the best in the lineup for me. Like most, was not terribly impressed in the beginning...a shame they raised the AT by ~1K. But it is a really good summer watch 😀

My gut reaction is meh, but the blue heritage 300 does to call to me. Time will tell whether the feeling will wear off with novelty—could be overstating the blue. The price is about $3k too high, anyway, in my estimation. I got to see the blue sandwich dial, steel-on-steel Panerai it’s based on yesterday, and that is one sharp-looking (albeit enormous) watch!

I love the Ploprof and especially like the seamaster since 1948 on the case back… a fat two fingers to Rolex!

In what way? Yes the Seamaster branding predates the Submariner model but both Rolex and Omega had waterproof watches in the 1930s, Rolex in the 1920s in fact which is what the Oyster branding is all about. Im not sure where you think the oneupmanship is?
