It doesn't look to be a new model, just a 75th anniversary edition colorway and case back.
Hello Mr. But Omega still hasn't confirmed that these "new" models are officially real I mean,
up to now nothing except Speedmaster super racing is officially a new watch in 2023 are they still in trouble about the Frankenstein Speedy which fetched 3.3 millions?
Greetings from Zurich

A shimmering dial has never appealed to me. I can't get on-board with anything shinier than the FOIS Onyx black.

Tend to agree, for sports watches certainly. I love my FOIS but found even the new ATs a bit bright for me.

Normally I'd agree, but the ceramic dials on the 300M and Dark Side etc are really wonderfully done. Somehow I find they increase down-to-the-second legibility rather than reduce it like most shiny dials do. I think the gradient blue is gonna be nice, if not maybe world-changing

Totally agree on legibility, don’t need my reading glasses in any type of light. I own the black reference and depending on the angle of light the ceramic and the waves change quite a bit from prominent to subtle. As an owner who wears it regularly I think shimmering as an adjective for this watch is over the top exaggeration.

I have a feeling this isn't the 'anniversary' piece so much as new releases that include the anniversary for the first year.

It's also commemorating the anniversary of the Seamaster line, but not the 60th anniversary of the Seamaster 300 ref. 165.024 which is perhaps the most iconic of the Seamaster divers.

Which was introduced in 1964. So next year for the 60th.

The Poseidon logo looks cool, I hope the watch is not the one that was leaked earlier. But I've missed the special editions and I'm a sucker for greek mythology.

I went out of my way to land the speedmaster apollo 17, 50th anniversary.

It most likely is. I have a feeling Omega is moving towards more evolutionary changes to design, with the 2018 SMP300 as the baseline. No more revolutionary changes.

Nonetheless, 41mm and no open caseback (likely a tad thinner) are steps in the right direction.

I think you might be disappointed on both scores. It looks to be exactly the same 42mm size as the existing SMP, and if the caseback is similar to that on the FOIS which also has quite a lot of relief then it isn't any thinner than a sapphire back either. A redesign only 1mm smaller strikes me as pretty revolutionary and also a lot of effort for little gain so is IMO unlikely.

I wouldn’t call a 1mm change revolutionary, but agree that it’s marginally different.

In general, I have a feeling that gone are the days of significant changes between model generations (similar to how the five-pronged crown does things).

Have any of the changes to the Seamaster since say, the Early 2000s been revolutionary?

New movements?
Ceramic inclusion?
More?

They’ve posted on their Instagram.
27th June announcement.

I think it’s going to be the Bond 60 colours, without the Bond elements, on stainless steel…
