Hello everyone,

Hope everyone is doing well. I am trying to buy a watch from an older gentleman. He seems genuine but can’t tell me much about the watch as he suffers from dementia. I only have 2 pictures of the watch thus far. I kindly ask all of you for your opinion. Is this real or a replica?
Thank you all in advance.

Genuine.

Dial seems original but pictures poor so need one in better focus to confirm.

Agreed. Watch is not a replica and I would guess the dial is in original condition but impossible to be 100% sure, pics are just too blurry.

I’m always a little suspicious when “an individual watch owner” is selling a watch that has a hang tag on it. Not saying it isn’t t legit but it does make me want to know the story.

Hey, so he has collection of lots of watches. He's 80 and I work with his daughter. He’s suffering from some health conditions and selling off some of his collections. His daughter will have the watch tomorrow for me to take clear pics. I will reply tomorrow with more clear pics. Thank you. Hope to hear from you tomorrow.

If you want to google for more info, this is called a "technical dial".

Especially with a couple more watches in the background with hang tags on them.

I think it's a lot for a gold-plated case, but that's my bias. If you don't mind the case, I'm guessing the price is in the right ballpark, since the technical dials tend to sell at a premium and the cosmetic condition looks pretty good. Keep in mind that you haven't seen the inside, so there is a risk there, and it might need a service.

In steel that would be quite cheap but being gold plate it also wouldn’t appeal to me. That said it’s probably about right.

Do you like it?

I think it looks very nice. Of course I would put a nice band and clean it up a bit.

I was planning on offering $250-$300

Gold-plating is in good condition and the dial is lovely. $450 is at the upper limit but not unreasonable in my opinion. Black & gold with red accents makes for a really cool watch; not everyone's cup of tea of course.
