Minus the killing people and misogyny...

James Bond is not a misogynist. Women are utility to him - just like a good watch.

I have tried on both the standard SS and LE Spectre versions. The differences are purely cosmetic: lollipop second hand, bezel, larger logo at 12, plus special box containing loupe, bracelet with 007 logo on the clasp, and strap changing tool. If you think about it, you get the special branding, plus a fancy box, loupe, strap tool, and NATO strap. The price difference between the two is about $900. (The standard version is $6600, the Bond LE is $7500.)

Is it worth the money? Only you can decide. (Personally, I like the standard version a bit better, but I don't own either one.)

Did you buy it because of the price or do you think it looks better than the 'normal' SM300?

The more and more I see the Spectre LE, the more I want a standard 300... large logo is just a bit too extroverted for me 😀
Definitely need to wear it on the NATO though!

The large logo in flesh is not too big.
When I saw the watch on the web, I thought the same, but when I found it in the boutique,... loved it!
The Spectre dial is much more clean, even with the 'big" logo.
It is a very special watch in the Omega's history: The very first Bond's watch used in the film that we can buy.
The luxurious package, the extra steel - all brushed - strap, limited edition, the 007 loupe, sought after, much more valuable in the used market...
The standard 300, we can buy all the time for many years to come.

With more than 7k of these in circulation I'm guessing you will be able to with this one too...

You are right, but the price will not be the same of the Standard 300.
How many Standard 300 will be produced every year until the replacement?! Much more than 7k.

Agreed - each to his own - I think I'm going to plump for the blue dial titanium in the end ... Just looks the best for me

I'm holding out for the titanium with a normal black dial. The one I tried on was way too heavy (on bracelet) but I didn't connect with the blue on the Ti ... here's hoping!

Is everyone drinking this kool-aid?
Every watch that bond has used so far has been available for Purchase... This is the only time it's been a limited edition...you can argue that Brosnan's SMP had gadgets (laser/grappling hook/ detonator) but odds are Craig's SM300 will do a trick that the Limited edition will not...
If you can trust this image
Then the argument is less valid...chances are no ones LE watch will light red at the '5' and hands line up when pressing the crown..
Don't get me wrong, I love the spectre SM300, and would have gone that way if I hadn't already gotten the regular SM300... But the 'first time you can buy James Bond's watch' argument just kills me...

I agree it's mostly marketing hype. As "Bond" watches go, this one's not so bad (some were festooned with 007 logos all over the dial etc) but I highly doubt they'll hold their value - in fact, I'd be willing to bet that within a few years' time, the extra $900 on top of a regular 300 will have vanished into thin air. Just look at some of the "limited edition" mission patch Speedmaster anniversary watches - they made so many of some of them they're not worth any more than a contemporary Moonwatch

I fact, Omega is still learning to be a premium and luxurious brand again.
The limitation of the Aqua Terra Spectre, 15007 units, is ridiculous. The second Spectre Limited Edition had a very big cut in the production: more than 50%.
Unfortunately to the brand - but very good to the sales - it is not enough!
They starting to make the right thing with the Speedmaster Limited Editions.
Last year only 1969 units and within this year the Snoopy with only 1970 pieces.
I am sure, it was VERY HARD to the management to not increase the limitation of the Snoopy Edition after the hype!
Luxury is rarity and sometimes, is necessary to sell less than the demand to the health of the brand.
Please, Omega learn it,...quickly!

I just think it is better to stick to the rule of buying what you love, resale value, rarity etc should be secondary considerations because as soon as you walk out the shop it's lost some of its value. If one wants to go for rare then buy the most out there watch on the market because inevitably it will be rare in the future, isn't that the case with Rolex Daytonas and Omega Bullheads? I believe they did not sell very well when they came on the market. The bond branding puts me off a bit but overall I think it is a nicer looking watch than the 'regular' SM300 so that's why I think I am going to go for that one.

Just for the record, the one I inspected had no gadgetry at all, nor did I expect it to. This marketing pitch isn't all that different than the Speedmaster "first and only...", but you know, I don't mind a little marketeering... as an old marketer once told me, in their business, 1+1=3.

love the bezel for the special bond edition compared to the mainstream one. Hopefully it will get more screen time in the new movie

I've had this watch for 4 days and didn't realize this

Normally, I don't go in for the limited editions. No "007" on the dial, thank you. This one is different. The unique markings are on the case back, on the circumference of the movement, visible through the sapphire crystal. You can hardly see it with the NATO strap affixed to the watch. The 007 logo, very small, is on one of the metal pieces on the NATO. It's also on the clasp of the bracelet (which can be replaced with a standard clasp or buckle).

I enjoy Bond films, but am by no means a fanboy. I picked up this watch the other day while vacationing in Singapore, choosing this over the standard SM300 mostly because of the brushed bracelet, the "dual-time" bezel, the Nato strap, and to a small extent, the extras that came with the LE package.

But I would have passed on this if the 007 stuff was on the dial. As Lew says, the Bond branding is more subtle than on other Omega watches.

I'm more of a bracelet guy, so that's how I'm wearing it right now. I think I'm okay with the 007 on the clasp, but if I did want to swap out clasp, does anybody have a part number and price estimate? $150? Is this an easy DIY, preserving the micro adjust thing under the clasp?

Yes... The new LE will be great, but I agree with you Sergio...

I was happier to have the actual watch...

Just discovered the forum. Ordering this now, after having seen the 300 MCO in person a few times in NYC and Amsterdam. Not a big 007 fan, but matte bracelet and the alternate/bezel dial w/ lollipop sucked me in. Looking forward to my first Omega!
