I already know, I think, I am not going to take it, so it does not really affect too much any longer... The rather sturdy case (which I like) and the wonderfully formed and polished hands (which I adore 🥰) do not fit together in my had... Not to mention the horrible caseback! 🤨

Well, I will have look anyway - when she arrives... 🍿

My AD required 100% deposit. . .last March for “August” delivery. I was planning to send them an anniversary card. Were you thinking of not taking delivery? I’m not sure how that would work in my case.

Mine wanted 100% deposit originally but got them to accept 25%, I was told if I wasn't happy with it when it arrived the deposit would be refunded.

Getting ridiculous. February half over and no word. And wonder why the delay. Manufacture problems?

Omega has had significant delays with their aesthetics and finishing division. Basically everything you see visually on a watch is tooled and made in a certain location and that has been expanded and moved. Apparently it’s caused a big backlog and is probably the reason for the delay.

They probably wanted the seamasters to get out the door in numbers first. Despite that omega still grew it’s revenues significantly in 2018.

Would you say the 1948 LE is a dress watch? I just moved from a formal / suit and tie company to a business casual start up. This is my first watch at this price point. Will the LE 1948 SM look out of place without a suit? I know folks at both companies who had Patek Philippe and others who had timex, so I get there’s a personal preference dimension- I’m just trying to understand convention a little better. . .

You don’t have to conform

Wear it how and when you like.

Here it is, it’s a classic sized 38mm and with the master chronometer cert movement it’s a real modern upgrade but stays around 11.4mm thin.

I does however wear fairly large due to lug length

So if i has to pigeon hole it I would certainly say smart casual but also dress watch.

As you can see in the background I was wearing my Jaeger lecoultre MUT moonphase that day, with a tee shirt!!

I wear all of my watches as and when I want to.

So if you love it, get it and wear it whenever you like.

Leather strap watches are and can be very versatile for all occasions apart from the beach and water.

I agree that this would be a perfectly suitable dress watch. I also agree with Bp 1000 that you can and should wear what you want. I have a ton of watches from very dressy to tool watches and they all seem to work in a professional, executive setting. The fact that you're wearing a watch at all these days makes a statement...

It doesn’t work so well with an anniversary watch though when you miss the anniversary. It just makes you look incompetent.

Not for me.

I assume based on the platinum model instagram posts that the first batch were sent out last week. Pure guess.

Really unsure why they are so delayed.
