Sorry for my english, but i don't understand what do you say about plo; in your opinion mesh bracelet is not correct for ploprof? so the clasp 1266/237 for what watch is for?

Thanks
The early ploprof was invented when before the mesh

New information which I think you will find interesting

On your prototype watch with the 5- 96 ? number you need to look at the back of the dial of that watch ...I understand it has to go to the watchmaker but take a photo of the back and you will find a series of numbers and possibly letters hand written on the dial back which is a code for the use that the prototype was tested for

There will be a matching number to the case

Please send me the code and I hope I will be able to describe it to you ..best wishes and a happy new year

Hello I have a question, can you please tell me why at the same watch omega seamaster 1000 professional I have seen pictures that the crown is sometimes on the left side and sometimes on the right? Thanks

Well that’s an interesting question which wasn’t fully understood until recently

The watch case has the movement number inscription inside which is the normal way up when the crown is on the right

However the watch was designed to have the crown on the left side so that it would be more comfortable worn normally or with a wet suit
So when the Watches were serviced occasionally the watches were reassembled they followed the right hand configuration not the left hand assembly

Please send me any photos you have and I will give you more particulars

Thank you for your reply. That's what happend to my watch too. After I had send it for service, I took it back with the crown on the right. So if I understood well in a next service I can switch it back as it was? Thank you and sorry for my english.

Yes you can switch it back but make sure they give you all the parts from the watch if they swap them for service parts as the old parts are very important to the watch

Please post a photo and If you like I will advise what should not be swapped

The watch used to be left side crown if I remember correct but now is right side... Which means that the first time they swaped it they should have given me some parts??? You mean sealing oring and etc?. Or if you swap it you dont need some parts from the inside so you have to keep them? thanks

p.s I dont have photo from the inside of the watch

I would say the most important (different) part is the date disc. A lefthand winder and right-handed has different date disc. IMO

i think you are right about the date disc as it’s the same as the ploprof as even thought the Dial is symmetrical when you switch round the crown the date is wrong by half a day as I understand it

Here is a photo
Very nice example which has all the right parts although the hands look to be service replacement so the original hand set should be recovered or returned from the service agent
It’s a 1012 caliber and it might be worth getting an extract from archives based on the movement serial number

These watches are very rare in full original condition and your bezel looks untouched and the dial is a type 2 oval 0 with no ‘bubbling ‘which is very uncommon

Yes the hands has been replaced as well as the glass because in a previous service probably not in an authorised they damage it but I have it as well as the date and the old crown.
