Hi I have recently been left a Omega Seamaster by my late father and I'm after advice on helping to identify it and its age and also a value as I am considering selling it on
The watch is in good clean condition and I have recently taken it to a jewellers who said the watch is immaculate inside but the offer they made was quite insulting so I thought I would take to the internet to try and research its details and its true value.
The watch is in full working order which was confirmed by the jewellers.
The watch is in quite remarkable condition to say its an estimated 40+ years old
The watch is fitted with a genuine omega steel strap
the jeweller told me the watch is a cal1010 model no. 166 0206 which he got from the inside of the watch
Any help is appreciated and I can get more pictures if required
Thanks Tony

For some reason the photos won't upload
I'll try again from my laptop later or I can send them to someone to upload as I'm not to computer savvy

These aren't hugely valuable so if you're finding ones similar, that will give you a ball park. I would guess the ones with black, grey, blue dials are worth slightly more.

What do you say is not valuable?
The ones I find are either different shaped case slightly or different shaped lense or look similar to this one but have day and date whereas mine just has date so I can't just go off the prices they're selling for as they vary in price so much

Found one in similar condition for $499 so not quite so worthless as I was led to believe
I know it's not worth thousands but hey its a lovely watch still

I don’t believe anyone used the phrase “worthless”.

I think that’s very top end for that watch, but even then when you compare it to the prices of many vintage Omegas, “not hugely valuable” is accurate, at least in monetary terms.
