·Today I have for sale this lovely Seamaster Automatic ref. 14700 from the very late 1950’s with tropical brown dial.
What was originally a black dial has tropicalised over the years to a very cool chocolate brown colour. With it’s contrasting yellow gold indices and hands it is very striking indeed!
The steel case is in pretty good shape with defined chamfers on the lugs and a sharp bezel. The crown is the correct scallop type. The screw case back is signed 14700. The case has a few marks here and there.
Running an automatic calibre 552 with a serial number of 17.2 million it dates to around 1959 or so. It is winding and setting well and keeping decent time although it hasn’t been serviced in my ownership and a service would be advisable. I have taken this into account with my pricing.
Here a couple of pictures with another black dialled 14700 for comparison.
I’m selling this one together with the matching one piece brown perlon strap which really compliments the brown dial.
€1100 net to me will include worldwide Track & Trace shipping. Payment by bank transfer or PayPal for well established forum members only.
Any question?...Just ask 😀
