·Today I have for sale this lovely Seamaster Automatic ref. 14700 from the early 1960’s with stunning black gloss and gilt dial.
The glossy black dial is in perfect shape and has contrasting yellow gold indices and dauphine hands..... it is very striking indeed!
The steel and gold top case is in good shape with decent lugs and a sharp bezel. The screw case back is signed 14700 and has a well defined sea monster. The case has a few marks here and there. The crown is the correct scallop type.
Running an automatic calibre 552 with a serial number of 19 million it dates to around 1962 or so. It is winding and setting well and keeping decent time although it hasn’t been serviced in my ownership. I have taken this into account with my pricing.
I’m selling this one together with the matching black Hirsch strap which really compliments the glossy dial.
