Omega Quartz - Battery Question

I just received a new Constellation quartz which prompted a question or two. I understand the Swatch Group developed motion-powered quartz movement called Autoquartz. My question is, "Does the Omega Constellation quartz have this battery recharging feature?" If not, does this watch have a silver oxide battery or the longer lasting lithium battery.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Don

Most likely the silver oxide battery, but we would need to know which Constellation you have.

Swatch uses a kinetic (auto quartz) movement in some Tissot models. But I hadn't heard that they were using it in Omega. Can anyone enlighten us?

I'm wearing an Omega Seamaster Quartz from approximately 40 years ago. Yes! Omega Quartz have been around for over 40 years! A lot of different movements- a lot of different batteries. We need more info. Does your owner's manual not give you that info?

I don't know of any Omega that uses an Autoquartz style movement. If you can tell us the reference number of your watch, I can tell you what movement it uses and what battery.

Thanks for the quick help. Here's the info from the PICTOGRAMS card: REF:12310356001001, Calibre: 4564. For battery info, the Operating Manual refers me to the "..guarantee card enclosed with your watch." Perhaps I'm blind, but I can't find any battery info on the PICTOGRAMS card or the INTERNATIONAL WARRANTY card.

It seems that the benefit of an Autoquartz feature would be an attractive way to separate a relatively expensive Omega quartz from the less expensive no-names. I understand the "days-are-numbered" for the Omega quartz (following the Rolex route), so perhaps there is no incentive to offer a battery recharging feature.
Thx again, Don

Hi Don,

That PIC is for a black dialed stainless steel cased Constellation, using either a Cal. 1532 quartz movement or a Cal. 4564 as yours has. These are traditional quartz movements that do not having facility for recharging the battery. The battery needed is a 373, or an SR916SW.

Cheers, Al

Google Omegamatic. A bunch of different design elements rolled into one. I've owned two.
