Omega pocket watch conversion

So, I bought this watch before I joined OF at the beginning of my watch journey. I assume it’s a pocket watch conversion. I wore this watch as a daily for about 6 months years ago before purchasing my Pre bond 200m Seamaster. I recently got it out of storage and it’s no longer running. I haven’t been able to find too much info on this and am thinking it might not be worth fixing. Any opinions or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again OF!

I’d spend a few hundred to get it running and put it on a trench strap. Great looking watch. Vintage Watch Straps.com … great source for straps and info.

Thanks Larry!
Does everything look to be correct? Minus the obvious damage to the case, lugs and cracked dial?

Lugs just look a little bent. That dial is in fair shape. A good watchmaker could put this right. I’m honestly not sure what this is…Normally with conversions, the stem and crown are at 12:00.Others here might as well as David B who owns the site I referenced and makes the straps. I don’t see the case damage. What I see is a cool old trench watch.

There’s no shock protection on those watches, so you have to be careful when wearing them, but they’d be fun to wear I imagine

Looks like a proper trench watch conversion, strange that the crown is at the 9" position - maybe the original owner was left-handed?

I found this advertisement while doing some research showing the guy wearing the watch on the inside of his right wrist…?

The more I consider this watch, the more I think the ad you found is what it is, a very early wristwatch.

The ad doesn’t have the left-handed crown, but, you might be right

I’m a little puzzled as to why our early Omega crew has not weighed in .. perhaps a title change to “Is this an early Omega wristwatch?” Might help. Regardless, still worth giving it a trip to the spa.
