Omega Planet ocean vs Rolex Submariner no date

Visited the Omega Boutique yesterday and tried on a 40 mm planet ocean with a white dial.- I must say it was magnificent and quite different from the other two omegas that I own. I love omegas and I'm trying to stay true to the brand but I must admit that the Submariner no date has been haunting me for some time now. One of the two will be my daily wear. Opinions?

For a daily wearer, a black dial would be more subtle and easier to match. And the Submariner will be a classic for years to come.

However, I imagine the PO will be easier to get than the Submariner, since Rolex inventory seems to be at an all time low at ADs.

This one maybe? It's 39.5mm per Omega's website.

Buy the one you prefer. I personally am not to keen on the bigger cased Subs. Good luck!

Where are you based, because the ND Sub is a very rare animal at the moment anyway. Ridiculous waiting times or closed lists for many

Northeast Florida. Wait time for Sub is 7-10 weeks

7 - 10 weeks is VERY decent. I would go for that.

Planet Ocean is a superb watch. I have the 43.5mm. In Australia no dealer will even put you on a waiting list for a Sub. The PO in my opinion is as good a watch as the Sub.

I've just got a Planet Ocean. I'm not a collector so I bought for best & when not working.
I can't stop looking at it.
Also I must mention the power. With mine I got a Wolf watch winder & I've put it on it just to see it working, think it's three days & still going. Be brilliant for wwwkends away etc.

PO is an amazing watch. While it is very hard to get a Sub or sub no date, why not own a PO first?

IMO the PO exemplifies a diver more so than a Sub. The Sub has become more jewelry than tool watch.

I have the 43.5 PO GMT (previous generation w the all black bezel). Love it, especially when fitted w the new clasp with micro adjustment. Running -0.2 sec/day! Sauna + swim daily w it

I have an Explorer, but the market frenzy (and debiers-like supply constraints?) Have put me off the Rolex brand.

I'm not a big fan of the Rolex Sub ND, but saying that I've had several Planet Ocean's including the latest 43.5mm and due to the weight of the PO I would only consider a titanium version going forward, much easier to live with imo.

I had a line on a titianium PO for a similar price as the steel one I wound up buying. Besides learning towards the monochromatic look of the black dial on the steel model, I decided if I was going to wear a massive 600m dive watch, I wanted it to feel like one.

First time I swam 30 minutes w it, I could feel the extra weight over my Oris Aquis. After that, I can't really feel it anymore.

The micro adjustable clasp is a big help, though.
