Bracelet, case, finishing, overall quality. I have owned both models.
Fair enough, I'll have to take your word for it, I never owned a AT myself only a PO for a couple years so I can't comment too much on the AT's quality, I just assumed it would be the same being from the same brand.

I’ve had both, I kept only the AT.

that being said the PO, specially the 2500 movement series, is a beautiful watch.if you want or need the ceramic bezel etc then a 2500d LMLE would be the perfect watch.

I don’t like the 8500 as much. They’re beautiful but not well proportioned to my eye.

I have owned 4 different PO models and all of them where immaculate. I have owned 3 SMP 300 Divers and all three had some kind of issue. The ATs are good watches but they are 1 step behind when it comes to the PO overall.

But that might just be me...

The AT and PO are substantially different, so it's just very hard to compare them, but it ought to be easy to pick a favourite. I have cheap homages of both, and like both the homages. Now it is hard to choose between say, a speeedmaster professional, and a speedmaster racing.

I've owned multiple SM300's and a planet ocean and never felt they were lacking in comparison...

I was talking about the latest version of the 300 Diver.

Fair enough, my latest one is the 2220.80 which I had compared to a 2201.50

I went to my AD today and tried on the PO and the AT. The PO (while chunky) did not feel too large on my 7.25 inch wrist. It's just a great looking watch; and I think perhaps more my style versus the dressier AT with the polished center links on the bracelet. Either way, they are both awesome watches and no way for someone to go wrong by purchasing either one of them.

In fact, these two would already make a great two watch collection that really is up for anything!

While I love the original PO and have it. Of the current line up I vastly prefer the AT, especially the 38mm version. It wears amazingly on my wrist. It would be a very tough choice between the silver, black, and blue dial for me.

I had a 1st generation PO and I definitely found it to be a sport watch. I could never get it to fit under a dress shirt cuff and sold it. I'm in the market for a new watch and tried on the new PO with the white dial and orange bezel which I find awesome. It felt like a brick on my 7 1/2 inch wrist. Moving on to the AT line at this point myself. The AT seems like a more versatile time piece if someone already has the dive watch box checked.
