Went in yesterday, got them down to $4750, and, well, here it is! Thanks for the encouragement, everyone! Very happy with this, even if I might have been able to source one from a trusted seller for a bit less. It feels good to add a new Omega again -- I've taken a detour over the last year or so and gotten into Rolex and AP, and those are frustrating brands to deal with as it seems like anything I'd want has a really long waitlist. Omega, and more specifically, the Speedmaster, is what started my journey into the hobby, and one thing I've learned since then is that nothing beats the Speedy. I'm also reminded why Omega is my favorite brand: watchmaking that beats anything in the price range, awesome history, lots of variations, no (or at least much less) snobbery, no waitlists (for the most part), and the fact that the brand is just more fun than any others.

One of the salespeople helping me pulled out a leather box, then a different one went "I think this is an order model that came in the red box." I have three of the red ones already that came with different watches and they're, err, not great. Fortunately, they were kind enough to give me the newer wooden one, with the pusher tucked inside. 😀

Agree completely on the moonphase. To take that idea even further, nobody really even needs a watch anymore with everyone having a phone on their person at all times. However, in the case of the Speedmaster, for example, there's a romantic attachment knowing that the same watch has visited the moon.

This is actually my third Speedy -- my first ever real watch was the hesalite Speedy Pro, and I added a Grey Side of the Moon a bit later. I've got my eye on a few more at the moment, as well. Honestly, I love the Speedmaster so much that I'm seriously considering focusing almost exclusively on it moving forward.

Good price, congrats! 👍

This watch was a gift and spent a good coupe of years sitting in the safe before it grew on me. Now it’s one of my favourites. I love the moon phase and calendar dial

The resurrection of this thread is timely as I just received a mint 3876.50 from a trusted reseller today. Absolutely gorgeous Speedy. Love the gold circles around the subdials. Moonphase adds a romantic touch and date feature is a welcome addition for me. Don’t want to take it off my wrist. Oh, and the exhibition caseback is very cool.

Lucky man! I am still searching

Here is my slightly different and dressier speedy moon phase. I love the white gold bezel and blued broad arrow hands.
Nice color combination. And the second hand seems not to have the triangle that blocks the moon phase!

Nice picture, i like the warm color under the light! Just did a search of "3575.20" on ebay, seems there're quite a few on sale from the Japanese market and priced very reasonably.

After a lot of digging in this forum, this might be the perfect option for me for my Omega first watch for the below reasons (and also a few questions since everyone seems to love it):
1. I love the moonwatch, but need a date.
2. I love the moonphase, but can't find a new or lightly used one within my price range (preferably closer to $4k)
3. Is everyone happy with how it has worked now that most models are several years old?
4. What is a reasonable price to pay for a used one of these in very good or excellent condition, with original box and papers? Most are now close to out of warranty.
5. Any other thoughts or feelings that could help me decide if this is the one?

I am jumping on this moonphase bandwagon with my 3575.20. Love the bracelet, the dial, the moonphase... just so much to love about the watch. An excellent choice for me.

Hi - new to the forum and I’m considering my first speedymoon acquisition. I know this thread is quite old but I think the 3576.50 (or 3876.50) remains really good value atm and I like the sapphire sandwich and that it is a 42mm manual wind professional with a date. One question I cant find the answer to, despite my best efforts is how thick it is? I know the automatic speedymoons are significantly thicker than the manual ones and so I am hoping, before I pull the trigger, that an owner of the 3576.50 or 3876.50 can tell me how thick it is?

I just purchased a 3576.50 and it is about the same thickness as my Speedy Tuesday (14mm I believe). The color of the moonphase disc and transparent case back are beautifully done. Here it is on my 7 inch wrist.

I think 14.5mm if my memory is correct
Thank you for taking the time to reply. My current daily wearer is a Bremont Terra Nova which is 43mm & 17mm thick and I do like the fact the 3576.50 is thinner.

Thanks for replying and for the great images. It’s still my front runner for my first Speedy…

There are various iterations of this model. The ST 345.0909 with black dial came out in 1985, the 3575.20 with ivory dial and blue Broad Arrow hands came out in 2000, a similar model with silvery dial and silvered Broad Arrow hands came out in 2001, and the final version 3576.50 with black dial and sapphire back.came out in 2003 and discontinued in 2017. So various models to choose from.

I measure mine at 13.9 mm with sapphire back.

You have a 3575.20 with a sapphire back?

I do, it's an Adam Lewis modified 3575.20 with blue baton hands instead of the Broad Arrow hands, a blue Gemini 4 bezel instead of the white gold bezel, and an Omega sapphire back. Here on a Silver Snoopy blue strap which I've since replaced with a Genteel turquoise epi leather strap for summer wear. I think these Speedmasters are way underappreciated and undervalued by collectors.

That's a very well thought out mod. The WG moonphase 3689.30 is too expensive and what you have is an excellent substitute. Is your dial 2nd gen with silver indexes? The tough part for me would be blue vs black bezel. Former more casual, latter more elegant.
