Hi Omega Forums,

I have been eyeing the Omega Mark II Gold Plated version for a while, and this one popped up locally. Everything looks good, but the case is weirdly new make me concern it might have been re-plated or even not a real case. Does this raise any red flags for you? Thank you in advance.

I think the case is simply one in very good condition, I can't see any issues with it, but I would like a better photo of the chamfer on the left side of the case.

Thank you. Here it is. And it should have a “20 micron” mark somewhere on the case as well right?

The "Plaque Or 20 Micron" inscription should be on the inside of the caseback.
External marks were generally limited to solid gold hallmarks or indications of "14K Gold Filled" and similar for US cased watches.

I see. I asked that because I saw some examples of these watches on the internet with a “20” mark on the 6 o’clock side. So, I'm not sure if the lack of a “20” is a red flag or not for this model.

Omega always marked the plating details on the inside of the caseback.
Except when they didn't, and put it on the outside of the case.
I think it may have depended on who made the case for Omega.

Your watch looks fine to me.
