Hey all, hope you're well. I recently acquired an Omega Heritage Maison Fondée1848 (ref 166.0295) with a 2892-A2 calibre from a local vintage watch shop. They're usually a great place, and offered in house servicing prior to purchase. However, I noticed after receiving that the rotor makes quite a lot of noise when turning. I was wondering, as I know noise levels can vary from calibre to calibre if anyone has experience with this? Is it typically a loud calibre? Or is it more likely that the service was poor and the rotor is loose, or there's unlubricated parts. I thought it's best to ask before I go back into the shop and make a fool of myself. Thanks in advance!

Hard to know what "quite a lot of noise" means to you, but yes the 2892A2 rotor will make some noise - won't be silent.

Ok, thanks very much for your help. I’ve got a couple of Omegas (new and old) which are much quieter, but one of them has to be the loudest! Just thought it was best to check.

Probably worth getting it looked at remove the back cover and look for excessive up and down Movement or the Movement mounts loose? The rotor could be rubbing against the side of the case
