Rotor noise

Hi!
I’ve owned a number of different watches at varying price levels and for example I can’t hear the rotor in my 16234 Datejust even in the slightest. Of course I’ve had Seiko 5’s that make a racket!
Just wondering about this old constellation with a 561. Those of you kind folks that own an omega with this or similar movement, is it ok that I hear noise a bit or should I get it looked at maybe it‘s rubbing?
thanks very much in advance!

What is the service record of the watch? If you are unsure, and if you are hearing sounds you haven’t heard before, have a watchmaker (an actual watchmaker) take a look at it. If you plan on using the watch, it should be in good condition.

Thanks for the reply, it was bought from a very reputable online dealer that stated it has been serviced. It’s new to me and I’m not hearing new noises. Just very faint ones sometimes. I imagine it’s probably good then

Your watch, your choice. But generally, antique and vintage watches that have been “serviced” are discussed frequently, and the consensus seems to be at least have it checked, and serviced if the watchmaker recommends it. The quality of the “service” an antique or vintage watch gets will depend on the skill of whoever did it. And many (not all) dealers will go with the cheapest quote.

Hmmm.. good points sir. Yeah... I think I’m going to definitely have it checked out then. Keeps amazingly good time though but

The rotor won't necessarily have much impact on time-keeping, but if it's rubbing or if the bearing is badly worn, the auto-winding won't be efficient.
