Based in Edinburgh.
I’m sure we have a number of brethren here, based in Scotland, who may be able to make recommendations. @Alpha?

In the UK I'd speak to either Simon Freese, WatchGuy or Mitka. All three have websites for contact info/prices and are well versed in vintage Omega.

You'll have to post but UK special delivery will easily insure this watch.

Sorry I don't have any recommendation in Scotland however apart from the above our own @ChrisN is excellent in my experience.

I have been quoted £210 + VAT for

Movement service
Movement parts as required
Case and bracelet clean ( refinishing available upon request)
Crystal polish
Regulation and testing
12 month guarantee

I do not wish to keep the watch and would like to sell. Is it worth having the watch serviced and then offering for sale or selling in the current condition?

I would also like some advise as to the best avenue to sell where it can reach the most potential buyers.

If you’re selling don’t bother with the service, simply sell as is with plenty of hi res pictures.

You're unable to sell here as you don’t have sufficient posts, so I’d suggest a no reserve auction on eBay.

It's a late 60's - early 70's. I've got one myself; they're a beautiful watch!

The value on these is not super high. I see them as an undervalued gem...

You won't recoup the service costs with increased value in the final sale.

List on a five day auction with *lots* of pictures (every conceivable angle), a 99p starting price, and no reserve.

Then sit back, don't panic when the sale price is still low ten minutes before the auction ends - people bid right at the end - and let the market decide the value.

It's a great looking watch. Good luck with the sale!
