Omega Genève Dynamic 166.0175 - possible NOS example

Hi all,

I’m hoping some of the Dynamic experts here might be able to help me establish exactly what I have.

I bought this Omega Genève Dynamic as New Old Stock around 1998/99. I don’t have the original receipt or any paperwork, unfortunately, but I’ve never worn it and it still has what I believe to be the original protective film on the back of the case.

It came with the label shown in the photo, which appears to read:

ST 166.0175
36817424

From the research I’ve done, 166.0175 appears to be the correct reference for the watch, and I’m wondering whether 36817424 could be the movement serial number and therefore whether the label originally belonged to this specific watch.

I’d really appreciate any thoughts on the originality of the watch, dial, strap and label, approximate production date, and whether the condition looks consistent with it genuinely being NOS.

I’d also be interested to know how much difference genuine unworn/NOS condition makes to the collectability and value of these. I’m considering selling it, so I’d like to establish exactly what I have before doing anything with it.

I haven’t removed the protective film, opened the watch, polished it or had it serviced. It's in the original box.

Yours is a second generation Dynamic 1 case and I believe hails from the early 1970s.
Desomond talks about the dangers of a NOS Dynamics like yours on page 5 and 6.
