Omega Geneve 1970 Auto Blue Dial - which colour strap?

Some advise please!
My Dad has passed on his watch to me as a gift for my 50th.
I want to buy a new strap that keeps with the style and tradition of the watch.
Which colour should I go for? I like tan/brown alligator straps - would this be 'right' for this watch?
Also, just for my own curiosity, how much would this watch be valued at?
Thank you!

Nice watch and a nice set with the paperwork.
I think these were either on black strap or bracelet.

A normal silver dial Geneve in that case ref is around £250-400. Blue dial probably £400-550. Blue dial plus box and papers maybe £600-800. These are private sale.

Thanks for the reply. One part of the original Omega strap is a attached - other side is in box and needs stitching. I hadn't thought about a bracelet - sounds good! Will pop into the Omega store in the city and have a look. Thank you once again.

A tan/brown strap would match the blue dial and red seconds hand beautifully.
That was my thinking too. I'm going to consider a bracelet too. Thank you for your reply
