Hello everyone,
This photo comes from Mao Zedong Memorial Hall in Shaoshan, China. Guo Moruo presented it to Mao Zedong during the Chongqing negotiations in 1945. I am currently looking for this watch. It was produced around 1945 as recorded, but its model is uncertain. I have found a style with similar graffiti but different colors sold watch, but its case back cover only has a serial number not 4 digits number.

Omega did not put case reference number on all watches at that time.

It is going to very difficult to find the case reference of this particular watch.

I was able to find one like the Mao watch:

https://www.stetzcowatches.com/product/omega-jumbo-37-5mm-30t2-ca-1940-steel/

The seller states that this is a “Jumbo” case. This usually means 37mm diameter or larger. I’ve seen several with the same dial style, so it’s a known quantity. I just don’t know how to specifically identify it.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, the color and pattern of this one are very similar. The only difference is the size of the case and the positions of 5 and 7. Unfortunately, It has already been sold.

If you are focused on the dial specifically, keep in mind that many watches from this era have been repainted at some time. Even the Mao watch may have been repainted.
