omegas records for the 321 movements must be pretty complete if my experience is typical.
when I ordered an extract for my 105.012 the only information I supplied was serial number and speedmaster (no case number).
I received an e-mail within hours stating that the serial number I had provided was not consistent with any speedmaster and that I should double check the number. sure enough I had mistaken a 5 for a 6 and subsequently received the extract with case number and production date.
they were still shipping out 105 66's in june 67.

That's a movement above 20.5M, the gap exists in the 2915s 2998s 105.002s and other serial numbers prior to that. 321s from the mid 60s are fine.

We were told it only applied to the 320/321s, and was a result of Lemania not keeping records to the same standards as Omega, the other calibre's were not a problem.

I am having a hard time making any sense as to how Lemania could be to blame? They used their own serial numbers on their in-house marked movements and they delivered movements to Omega with serial numbers as requested.
Would it not make more sense that the mixup came as a result of these being the only movements used by Omega at the time that was not made in-house, and hence was not recorded under the same regime as their own?
Not that it really matters.......

Here is what Mr. Büttiker from the museum in Biel answered me in 2013 on my request concering this issue:

Für die Referenz CK 2915 wurde das Kaliber 321 gebraucht. Jedoch wurden zu dieser Zeit die Chronographen bei Lémania produziert.

Leider sind die Archive der Firma Lémania nicht mehr auffindbar und aus diesem Grund können wir nicht mehr Informationen kommunizieren, da wir nur bestätigen dürfen, was wir selber schriftlich in unserem Archiv haben.
It says, that the archiv of Lemania is lost and Omega can therefore not communicate anything else than the country to which the movement with the (not specified) watch around was delivered as well as the date of production

Lost or yet to be discovered...who knows...

yes the only info is date and client (e.g. RCAF is not a country) associated with the s/n.

It also says that they were MADE by Lemania. Now that may explain a lot!
I have been beliving that Lemania sent complete movements to Omega, however by this it could be deducted that Lemania also cased the complete watches.
Any thoughts??

I read on another forum that total production of the 321 movement was only 40000 and was last manufactured in 1960. the curator of the omega museum is quoted as saying that omega bought all the remaining movements, which were already numbered and used them as and when without thought to use them in sequence.. any thoughts on this?

Member speedy4ever disproved that in his Moonwatch Only book. They calculate 127,500 cal 321 units were made & approx 80,000-85,000 finding their way into Speedmasters.

And made until 1967. But this includes the 27 Chro C12.

Yes the speedmaster were assembled by Lemania too.

I read on the Omega website that they will not provide an extract to the US. Is that right? I would like my new 105012 extract. Sorry if I hijacked the thread.

Contact your local Omega Boutique. They may have a way of making that happen for you.
