As I don´t have had an Omega watch in my small collection until now, I always looked for something special to close that gap and as a starting point...
This watch came from an italian collector and was offered as a a pocket watch...

The case looks quite good, diameter is around 44mm and lugs at 16mm ! Even if it is missing an omega stamped case back, I gave it a try.

The serial number should be on the opposite side of the (Omega 18SPB?) movement, so unknown at this time.

I have read some threads about vintage Omega trench watches that are showing early Omega trench watches in very similar (but smaller) cases.

I know that some forum members have a great expertise on early Omega wrist watches. So I would be pleased if some of you would share their knowledge about the watch to learn more about it. Are there early trench watches known in this large size or has it started its life as a pocket watch and has been recased later?

    Many thanks in advance.

It might be a recased pocket watch. Unfortunately, it might be a Ukranian fake. You should be able to see the caliber number under the balance, but I don't know when they started that practice.

I did a little looking and the moment actually looks correct for an 18SPB. But these are things we rarely see, so hopefully our resident watchmakers have a good idea.
