Fun thread! Here's mine. Its got a 5mil serial. I'm seeing a lot of the crowns look like this brass color. Is mine original? Also what would the name be for the style of numerals.
Forgot to post this before, Shadow Box was the numeral style name, at least the US produced ones.
The lugs look to have been added later, - from their shape, - but I cant figure out what this watch was originally: Converted pendant/lapel watch? But the numbers seem to be in all the wrong positions for that?
Or is it one of those mythical Omega left-handed watches?
I'm also not used to seeing the Omega movement layout on movements which are unmarked (especially where the case IS marked!). Is there some reason for this as well, which is connected with the whole layout? The dial being unmarked doesn't phase me as much, - it could have been changed at any time in the last century or so?
This supposed trench watch was, as noted, made a decade or so before trenches came into fashion, - at least the seller doesnt try to describe it as a military! Unlike all the other under-27mm watches one sees on ebay 'described' as being designed for all the ladies in the trenches!
I would tend to agree but isnt one of the most desirable of them the Zenith Land & Water? I have seen them in around 27mm! (or is there a lady's version?)
In this commercial poster from a very good site you will find that is a watch that can be ordered by anyone who want a dust proof watch and to know the time to the very second.
