Nice but for it to have any real extra value over a std model you probably need the full set. Since it is only the caseback which differs from std it would have been fairly easy to fake one I should think, particularly back when parts were easier to obtain than now. If it is legit, possibly an extract would be beneficial and certainly add value. If it isn't, you could always put it back to std and flog the presumably valuable caseback

Ive seen this on eBay and I have never heard of it tbh. The dial is the same as the standard Dynamic chrono.

The only limited edition dynamic i know of is the Targa Florio LE.

Take a close look at the back of the lugs with a loupe. It should be lasered in tiny digits on the bottom right lug as you face the back and will be 8 digits probably starting 56,XXX,XXX if my std Dynamic chrono is anything to go by, if it isn't there then I am afraid to say whether genuine or not you have a problem as you can't get an extract if the serial has been removed.

EDIT: I can see the serial in your picture lol!!!!! Take a close look.

You do get credible hits on this LE if you search Google so I am quite willing to believe that the type is legit, though possibly a single market special perhaps at the instigation of the local importer. It wouldn't take much effort to get a hundred or so standard casebooks engraved after all.

It is NOT mentioned in the Omega bible. It only features 3 Dynamic Mk3:

The std non chrono
The Chromo
The Targa Florio LE

I have to also add that the Dynamic Gen 3 was launched in 1997

Well there is a Japanese market 3-hander model with a different dial I have seen in several places so I would say there is more to it than the 'bible' suggests, though of course that too could be a local dealer special.

I am calling 'Jury still out'

Your Serial is 565994XX which dates it to 1988.

Why would Omega make a watch the commemorate a significant anniversary like the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project 2 years after the actual anniversary.

well well this is news to me...

Guess that thread sums up the Jap specials...

But it still leaves this Dynamic in Q. I still would like to know why they would celebrate an iconic millstone in space 2-3 years after the actual year stamped on the watch?

The archives MIGHT say 'Apollo-Soyuz Limited Edition" it might not also thats a chance you will have to take.
