Is this the same with Seamasters or just Speedmasters?

In my experience you can get more off Seamasters than Speedmasters.

3861 is the new thing and is probably moving fast. I would not be surprised if you have a hard time getting any discounts.

The days of getting 25% off a Speedmaster are long gone.

If you are active military or veteran you can get 20% off a 3861 Hesalite right now on ShopMyExchange.com. Should be an even higher discount come Black Friday.

Good info!

When you say “veteran”, does this mean a retired veteran or any honorably discharged veteran regardless of years served?

I’m asking since I got the boot [honorably] at year 12 and did not retire from the military.

If you can still shop at a PX your all good…

Love work trips as usually get PX and commissary privileges. For a Aussie some of those big PX,s are a day out of purchasing…….

Unless things have changed [I was honorably discharged in 1998 at year 12], I don’t believe I have PX privileges…I think I need to contact the VA to find out what privileges are currently available.

I remember getting 20% off on my Speedmaster professional from an AD in 2020 - but around the same time, I was also purchasing a FOIS, but from a OB. It was my understanding OBs were prohibited from offering any level of discount.

I thought all veterans were allowed to shop at PXs as seen a lot there over the years….

Things have changed on this front. For the online exchanges, as long as you were honorably discharged, you are allowed to shop on them. It is a fairly recent change though.

One thing to note, this is for online only.

I cold called an AD and asked about 'best price' for 234.30.41.21.03.001, I was given > 20% discount if I purchased by close of business.

Trigger was pulled.....

I think you're referring to US. At least in Spain things are different.
Still a 15% is relatively easy to get, and 20% is possible.
We even have trusted resellers offering 17%-18% discount publicly in Spanish forums.
And in my opinion things are getting worst for us, and bigger discounts will return eventually.

I had good luck with a recent Speedy purchase, although this was likely a combo of an AD I've done quite a lot of business with and our mutual frustration about the long-delayed Snoopy.

I was told then, as I have been each time I looked at an Omega or Tudor recently, that no discounts were available now on either brand.

Well to be honest, I bet that watch was sitting in the display case for awhile. They were glad to move it.
