Deville94
·
My first watch was an Omega DeVille Prestige date with the quartz caliber 1430 that was a high school graduation gift from my family in 1994. I have developed an interest in mechanical calibers since then, but my Quartz DeVille has remained a cherished and often worn part of my collection.
Over the years the watched has received full services and battery changes, all by Omega. After a recent battery change, and unfortunate drop of the watch, the case back popped off and I noticed the original caliber was replaced with a 4563. I feel bad for dropping the watch but am really interested to know more technical details about the caliber 4563.
I’ve only ever read about the 4563 from Archer in one of his great responses in a different thread. And on a related note, I was able to snap the case back into position but don’t know if I was supposed to do something more.
I would be able interested to learn more about the 4563 and also whether the watch needs servicing after being dropped opened and then closed (no impact to time keeping after 2 weeks).
28 years into ownership, I like that the DeVille has a new caliber (hopefully better than the 1430), but that it’s still my old watch!
