·Sounds like a bad clasp spring. Unlike on a regular bracelet clasp, I don't think it's user serviceable. If you're still under warranty, see if Omega is willing to replace the clasp.

I have sent in back twice and twice it came back with a new clasp, both times it’s made no difference!

·Good call.
To be honest. I dislike all deployant buckles. They look good as hell in a watch and added value, visually. You trade away comfort and security, especially on a ceramic piece.
I don’t have balls big enough for deployant on ceramic. Add kids to that equation and it’s a matter of “when” not “if”.
Not about having big balls, just get some insurance 😀. Totally worth it for the piece of mind.

Maybe. It's hard to believe that they would lie. A mistake like that might have happened once, but it's hard to see how it would happen twice. I sent an X33 skywalker back and that had it's clasp changed under warranty, came back perfect.

·I have the 16mm steel deployant from the speedy pro and could replicate what you are doing there in the video (but in reverse). Press one side nothing happens. Press the other and that side partly releases so when the opposite side is pressed again it will open unless you have clicked it back into place. Pressing just one of either side does not do it. I've not had any issues with it so far and had to make it do this. I did have a TAG deployant that did that before but since that was replaced not had the issue since.

BTW, what nylon strap do you have in that first photo? That looks like something I would like to get.

It’s a Barton canvas strap in smoke grey. (Barton watch bands) You can get it from their website or from amazon. 20 euros, quick release and they come in 21mm.

·Wanted to follow up with a new observation that supports my hypothesis that it’s not the clasp but the thickness of cordura deployant straps that is causing the issue.
As I stated earlier in the thread, I could replicate this problem when I had the clasp of my Seamaster 300 MC on the DSOTM cordura strap. I switched out for the original Barenia strap this morning and tested it. It will not open with a single push. Both have to be depressed. The leather is at least a mm thinner than the cordura.

·Thank you for checking it out. That’s probably part of the issue. Depending on how I hold the wrist it also seems to open on one side with a press and then that side stays open, so a simple nudge on the other will make it open fully.
I did record a little video if anyone feels like doing more analysis.
I think it might just be me. I am used to divers with fold-over clasps and other super robust pieces (I have an X33 and a Damasko, etc...). This just seems a lot more fragile... seen the watch it is that might be by design...

·It looks like the spring mechanism is not delivering the right level of pressure on to the latch keys. You said the AD replaced the clasp before? If so, could be a design flaw in this unique clasp. I would reach out to Omega and inquire with your video & history on prior replacements.

I will do that. The AD did indeed send the watch over to Omega in Switzerland twice and twice I was told the clasp was replaced. I saw the Omega screens at the AD and I have Omega repair numbers, so the watch has definitely been in Switzerland, if they replaced the clasp or not I don’t know.
Being based in Ireland and not having access to an Omega Boutique means they are likely to refer me back the AD (there is only one in Ireland. But I’ll email them tonight and see what they say.
I did try again with no strap at all and it behaves the same way.

You need both - the holes in the strap are very different (bigger) for a buckle as you can see from previous post below. An AD or boutique should give you the part numbers.

Every strap has 2 widths -> at the lugs and at the clasp. Omega makes for sure 18mm and 16mm clasps, maybe also others. Straps can be 22/21/20/19/18mm at the lugs. You always must check the width at the lugs (to pair with the watch you have) and at the clasp (to pair with the clasp you have).
So the answer to your question is NO.
