Hi I'm looking at a Omega Seamaster De Ville 14k.
Ref. 135.010, Cal. 601

The crystal has a some crazing at the top.

So the questions is, could i be a great watch with a new crystal. And a bit polishing where the caseback is tarnished from the strap?
The price is currently sitting around 1000€

Cheers Silas

I would not buy it with the Seamaster print issue. Plenty of other fish in the ocean.

With that dial and the wrong crown it has serious issues, tarnish is the least of the problems.
I'd pass on it.

I think there is quite a bit more wrong about that dial than the obvious. The missing part of the 'seamaster' text is particularly odd, but the "L's in DeVille are really inconsistent/awkward as well, and the O in Omega is strange too. There is also what appears to be crazing on the crystal, which means exposure to a solvent. WHERE it is crazed (looks around the inside!) means it likely was exposed internally to solvent, which is also concerning (though, could perhaps be explained by whatever happened to the dial).

I would pass on this unless it was cheap where melting it down for the gold made you money 😀
